I was super excited when my doctor told me we needed to schedule a birthday for this little man. He just was chilling in my belly and wasn't coming on his own. If you have read by previous posts about pregnancy with Addie, you would know I am not the happiest pregnant lady there is. I love the process and I am truly blessed that I can carry my own child but I love it when they come into the world and I can wear my clothes again! They are so much more fun when they are out of my belly :)

When I went into the hospital I was already 3 cm dilated so I didn't have so spend the night. They started the induction at 5:30am. I was hoping it would have moved faster than what it did, but like I said, he was comfy in there! They told me once I hit 4 cm I was able to get the epidural whenever I wanted. I, of course, didn't want to wait...why wait any longer? So the guy came in and put my epidural in and they broke my water around 9a. I suddenly started feeling really severe lower back pain on my right side. My nurse had the anesthesiologist come back and give me a re-dose of the epidural. This seemed to help for about 30 minutes and then the pain would come back. My nurse was awesome! She would try and move me in different positions to help move the baby and to also minimize my pain. When the pain wasn't going away, she called him back in to do another re-dose! Ugh, it was so uncomfortable! I was now 8 cm and still feeling every contraction! I didn't sign up to feel every contraction...hence why I wanted the epidural early :) So when I was bawling through the contractions my nurse called him back in to see what we could do. He didn't say anything when he came in the room and just gave me a miracle drug...at least that is what I'm calling it :) Bam I was ready to go!

I pushed through three contractions with Lincoln. He came out super fast! I was so excited to snuggle him and see what he looked like! They let me hold him a lot longer than what I was able to hold Addie.  I actually was pretty grossed out and was cool with them taking him and cleaning him off. He weighed exactly the same as Addie! How crazy is that! He was just a little bit shorter than her, but pretty similar.

He was definitely a Lincoln when he came out. Edd and I had been struggling with a name and took two names with us. Finnley James and Lincoln Daniel were our choices. We both were fine with either but once I saw him, I knew he was a Lincoln. I loved the name Lincoln because it is such a strong name and we chose Daniel after Edd's Grandpa and Uncle.

My mom came and stayed with us so she was watching Addie when we were in the hospital. My mom totally spoils her. She even painted her fingernails and toenails. Addie was super cute when she came into the hospital room. She really just wanted to be up in bed with me. So we brought a book up and read a book. She kept giving Lincoln kisses on his head...it was too sweet! I know she is going to be a great big sister!

I was able to be discharged from the hospital the next afternoon! It was awesome that I could leave so early. My doctor asked me if I felt okay and I was up walking around the whole night so I knew I was ready! I wanted to see Addie and just be home!!

I know this life I chose will be challenging, but I am so ready for it! I love being a mother and I love seeing Edd be a dad. My life is amazing and I am so thankful for two healthy babies!
