I am going to break this blog post up into different posts because we did so much while we were there!
We ventured to Bob & Heidi's Saturday morning and we planned to stay Saturday night and check into our house on Sunday. Adelynn sleeps while she is in the car (for right now) so I wanted to break up the drive so she would still sleep through the night. On Sunday morning we headed up to Silver Lake. It took us about 3 hours to get there from Bob & Heidi's house. My dad was able to stay up with us for the first couple days, so we wanted to hit the lighthouse when he was with us. My dad loves light houses and the history behind them. He was a scaredy cat, so he didn't climb up it but we did check it out. Adelynn, Landon, and Paw Paw did not get to climb the lighthouse but everyone else went to the top. My sister was super scared when they got up there! Carter was loving it! After the light house climb we walked the beach and enjoyed the sand between our toes! I put Addie in the hot sling and she fell asleep right away.
The boys loved playing in the sand. They were filled with sand in a heartbeat. It doesn't seem to bother them though!
We cherished every sunset. This sunset below was from our first night!
We decided to start Adelynn on rice cereal when we were on vacation so Heidi and mom could give me advice on how it was supposed to look and how much I should feed her. It was a hoot! She loved it but the first bite was hilarious. She made the funniest face!!! I gave her one TBSP of rice cereal mixed with 1.5 ounces of breast milk. It was not enough! I then gave her the bottle and she drank till she was in a milk coma. The next night I gave her two TBSP of rice cereal mixed with 3 ounces of milk.
The next day we hit the beach as soon as we could! Adelynn did not like the sand! She would only put one foot in the sand at a time when I stood her up! It was so funny! She quickly zonked out from all the excitement!
We found a drum at Bob & Heidi's that Adelynn loved so we brought it with us! She can sit up by herself when she is leaning forward on it!
